Have you ever heard of a wall so long and it’s like a loong (Chinese dragon) stretching across mountains, deserts, and forests? You’re right if you’re thinking of the Great Wall of China!
The Great Wall of China is the longest wall in the world! It was built thousands of years ago to protect the people of China.
Visiting the Great Wall is like going on the biggest nature walk ever! You climb up and down steep steps and walk along paths. The Great Wall has many walls and towers, all built at different times. Some parts are crumbly and old. The others have been fixed up and look almost new.
The wall winds and twists through all sorts of places—over hills and even into the deserts. It’s like a stone dragon lying across the land. In China, loongs are a sign of good luck. That’s why people in China think a loong can protect them.
The Great Wall is valuable because it is ancient. It also took a lot of hard work to build. Imagine lifting heavy stones up steep hills. The result is truly marvellous.
So, if you ever go to China, don’t miss visiting this grand wall!
