Today marks Jonathan’s very first journey on an aeroplane. Early in the morning, Jonathan and his family head to the airport. When they arrive, Jonathan eagerly watches planes taking off and landing through the large windows.
Jonathan watches their suitcases move along a conveyor belt at the check-in counter. ‘Where do they go?’ Jonathan asks. ‘They’re being loaded into the plane’s cargo hold,’ Mum explains.
Next, they approach the security checkpoint. Jonathan is nervous when he walks through a metal detector archway, which beeps softly. He is relieved when the friendly security guard says, ‘OK!’
In the departure lounge, Jonathan sees many restaurants. Jonathan and his family choose one, where they sit down to enjoy a delicious meal together, making their trip even more fun.
It’s time to board the plane. A flight steward welcomes them.
The plane is massive and spacious. Jonathan sits by the window and watches other planes. Mum shows how to fasten the safety belt. The captain talks about the flight.
The plane starts to move. The engines roar, and the aircraft is ready to take off! Everything below looks tiny.
On the plane, Jonathan watches cartoons. He is so delighted with his first flight experience!
