Clara is doing her homework...
In the corner of her attic, she notices a music box. It is pretty with shiny gold and little blue stones. Curious about what sound it will make, Clara turns the key, and sweet music fills the air.
As the music plays, something magical happens. The room blurs, and suddenly, Clara stands in a vast, sparkling hall. Big chandeliers hang from the ceiling. All around her, people and animals twirl and sway to the lovely tunes.
But not everything is joyful. A grey wolf, Mr Hush, wants to stop the music. He doesn’t like happy tunes. Every time he comes near the music box, the music gets soft, and the dancers slow down.
Clara knows what to do. She dances and sings louder, encouraging everyone. ‘Come on, let’s keep the music alive!’ she shouts.
More and more dancers join Clara, and their joy pushes Mr Hush away. The hall becomes bright and merry again.
Soon, Clara finds herself back in her room, the music box slowly winding down.
Now, every time she hears a song, she can think about her magical adventure and dance with joy...
‘Clara, it’s time for dinner,’ Clara’s mum shouts outside her room.
Clara puts down her pen. She’s proud of the story she just wrote.
