Venus flytraps are small green
plants. They need sun and water,
like other plants. They eat insects.
That’s not like other plants!

Venus flytraps grow in America.
Many people have a Venus flytrap
in their homes. They are popular
because they are interesting. They
are also cheap to buy and easy
to grow.

Venus flytraps can grow up to 30 cm tall. They have small white flowers.
They also have two green and red leaves with spikes. The two leaves are like
a door and smell good to insects. When an insect crawls along the leaves,
they close quickly. The Venus flytrap slowly eats the insect inside.

A pair of Venus flytrap leaves only eats three to four insects in their life. So,
don’t worry. This plant cannot hurt you!
